SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATION FOR RESTAURANTS

We will walk you through the process of obtaining the Tudestino Sostenible tourism sustainability certificate.

SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANTS:
A NECESSARY DEMAND FOR THE SECTOR.

Nowadays, there is a growing interest among tourists in sustainability and responsible consumption. This increasingly translates into customers choosing a restaurant that shows social responsibility and adopts environmental, social and ethical commitments and values.

The hospitality industry is taking up the challenge of responding to this growing demand and is gradually working to integrate them into its operating model.

Before taking isolated measures or measures that only replicate fads or trends, it is necessary to adopt a real awareness of what sustainability means and how to put it into practice, as this is another way of understanding gastronomy and restaurant business.

In order to meet this challenge, it is necessary to adopt a well-defined strategy, which is articulated around real and concrete objectives aimed at the continuous improvement of the restaurant’s processes, products and services.

This strategy will allow, not only to take into account these issues, but will also improve profitability, being more efficient in the consumption of resources such as energy and water or helping in our supply chain, generating a better control of expenses.

Getting the TUDESTINO SOSTENIBLE Certificate helps to design a sustainability management model that adapts to each business by implementing continuous improvement measures and facilitating awareness of its commitment to sustainability.

CERTIFY THE SUSTAINABILITY OF YOUR RESTAURANT

Our “Tudestino Sostenible” norm allows us to certify those restaurants that meet the minimum requirements to obtain it, becoming part of a community of restaurants committed to sustainability.

The certification will follow the Tudestino Sostenible norm and its standard of sustainability criteria for restaurants. In this way, the certification process will be adapted to the characteristics of this type of premises.

Within this certification process we take into account the different aspects of social, economic and environmental sustainability, in line with what is established in the 2030 Agenda, highlighting the following aspects of management:

Waste Management and Prevention.
Water management.
Energy and Energy Efficiency.
Working environment.
Supply chain.
Sustainable mobility.
Circular economy.
Climate change and carbon footprint.
Corporate social responsibility.

All those activity companies that pass an external third-party audit will receive the sustainability certificate and will become part of our community of establishments committed to tourism sustainability.

WE WILL ACCOMPANY YOU ON YOUR PATH TO OBTAIN YOUR ACCREDITATION.

The certification process is carried out in two different phases:

CONSULTING AND AUDIT PREPARATION
Prior support to achieve our certification if you do not have a management model or a review of it as preparation for the audit.

CERTIFICATION
Once the actions collected in the previous phase are completed, we will proceed to the external third-party audit process. Once you have passed this, you will obtain your “Tudestino Sostenible” sustainability certificate.
